apple_vs_samsungDon’t worry, this is good news. Judge Koh has ruled that Samsung did not willfully infringe Apple’s patents, and they had no reason to do so.  This means that Samsung does not have to pay more then the $1.05 billion that was awarded to the fruit company last year.

As this is the sum total of Apple’s arguments and evidence that Samsung’s infringement was willful, the Court cannot conclude that Apple has met its burden to show willfulness by clear and convincing evidence.

Apple won’t, at this time, be getting any extra dough from the Korean giant.  Luckily, Judge Koh was content with Samsung counter arguments, and therefore, ruled that the Korean company did not infringe on Apple’s patents.

They infringed but it wasn’t willful.
